Grandma's Cheese Flan

Ingredients

- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 ounce water
- 1 (14 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1 (12 fluid ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pinch salt
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f and heat sugar and water in a small, heavy-duty saucepan over medium-low heat.
- 2 donâ??t stir with spoon. swirl saucepan for 3 to 4 minutes or until sugar is dissolved and caramel colored.
- 3 quickly pour into bottom of a flan mold.
- 4 place evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, cream cheese, eggs and vanilla in a blender; cover.
- 5 blend until smooth.
- 6 pour mixture into the prepared casserole dish (over the cooled caramel).
- 7 place casserole in a 13x9-inch baking dish; fill 13x9 baking dish with warm water to 1-inch depth.
- 8 bake 1 hour and 20 to 30 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
- 9 remove flan from hot water.
- 10 cool at room temperature in casserole on wire rack.
- 11 refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
- 12 run knife around rim; gently shake to loosen.
- 13 invert into serving dish.
