Spinach Tart With Garlic Sesame Crust

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 yellow onion, roughly chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
  • 1 cup milk (alt milk works too!)
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • salt
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup sesame round cracker
  • 1/2 cup garlic world peas
  • 1/2 cup butter

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 saute garlic and onion in a hot skillet until translucent.
  • 3 add flour and mix until a paste begins to form, then slowly add the milk.
  • 4 add spinach, red pepper and salt.
  • 5 cook a few minutes more, until thickened.
  • 6 allow to cool a moment while making the crust.
  • 7 for the crust- combine crackers, peas and butter in a food processor until a rough crust appears.
  • 8 press crust into tart from and fill with spinach mixture.
  • 9 bake at 350 for about 15 minutes.
  • 10 remove from oven and top with parmesan cheese.
  • 11 return to oven and allow the cheese to melt and bubble.
  • 12 remove after abour 5 minutes.
  • 13 serve immediately.
