Quiche Lorraine

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shells
  • 1/2 lb bacon
  • 1 1/2 cups swiss cheese (6 oz)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups light cream
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash nutmeg
  • 1 dash cayenne
  • 1 dash pepper

Recipe

  • 1 prepare pie shell, refrigerate until ready to use.
  • 2 preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • 3 fry bacon until crisp;drain on paper towels.
  • 4 crumble bacon into bits and sprinle over bottom of prepared pie shell. sprinkle with grated swiss cheese.
  • 5 in medium bowl, with rotary beater, beat eggs with light cream, salt, nutmeg, cayenne, and pepper until well combined but not frothy.
  • 6 pur mixture into pie shell.
  • 7 bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center seems form when gently shaken.
  • 8 let quiche lorraine cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before serving.
