Quiche

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 3
  • 6 ounces swiss cheese, grated
  • 8 slices bacon, crisp & crumbled
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup 1% low-fat milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 dash cayenne
  • 1/4 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 frozen 9-inch deep dish pie crust

Recipe

  • 1 sprinkle cheese & bacon in pie crust. (i cook the bacon & grate the cheese the night before so it's easier on christmas morning.).
  • 2 at this point you can add 1 10 oz pkg of chopped spinach (thawed & squeezed dry) or 1 small can of sliced mushrooms (drained), or use your imagination. (i usually make at least 2 on christmas & so the variations were born.).
  • 3 mix together remaining ingredients & pour over cheese (& whatever else you may have added).
  • 4 bake in 375 deg oven for 50 minutes until firm & slightly browned. test with a toothpick.
  • 5 let stand for 5 minutes before cutting.
