- 1/2 cup milk

- 1 put the cheddar cheese in the top of a double boiler.
- 2 place over simmering water and stir gently until the cheese begins to melt.
- 3 add the milk gradually, while stirring constantly.
- 4 continue to stir constantly until the cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth.
