Protein Packed Mac & Cheese

Ingredients
- 2 cups uncooked whole grain elbow macaroni
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup nonfat milk
- 8 ounces american cheese, cubed (velveetaâ® or kraftâ®)
- 1 link half of 13 . 5 ounce package johnsonvilleâ® smoked or three cheese italian style premium cooking sausage, quartered and sliced
Recipe
- 1 cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.
- 2 meanwhile, in another saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- 3 stir in flour until smooth; gradually whisk in milk.
- 4 bring to a boil, stirring constantly. cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
- 5 add cheese; cook and stir until melted.
- 6 stir in macaroni and sausage.
- 7 enjoy.
